Intel CorporationFounded in 1968 by Gordon E Moore and Robert Noyce after they left Fairchild Semiconductor. Intel was an early developer of SRAM and DRAM memory chips. The creation of the PC propelled INTEL into that market and became their primary business. INTEL helped promote the growth of the PC industry.

Oregon Health and Science UniversityThis medical center, fondly known as "The "Hill" is located on Marquam Hill in Portland. The University Hospital is a Level I trauma center and Doernbecher Children's Hospital specializes in pediatric medicine and care of children with long-term illnesses.A third hospital, The Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is located next to the OHSU campus and is under the auspices of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. OHSU also sports an aerial tram to make "The "Hill" more accessible to new buildings and services near highway I-5 below.

Currently, Fred Meyer operates 128 stores in the Pacific Northwest and employs 50-300 employees per store. Locally, Fred Meyer is known as "Freddies".

Safeway, Inc.Safeway was founded by Marion B. Skaggs in American Falls, Idaho when Skaggs purchased his father's grocery store.
